Mission: Critical Vision
When you depend on great vision
One year at the annual skit at the meeting of the Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, a "character" in the skit was a surgeon dressed up as an aerospace engineer with thick glasses, a slide rule in his pocket, and a clipboard with a long list of questions for his doctor about LASIK. I realized for the first time that one of the patients I like best, the technical, intelligent, inquiring patient, is the one that other surgeons fear and make fun of. When I think of my patients; I realize I have quite a following amongst pilots, marines, cops, firefighters, engineers, special agents, architects, criminal investigators, artists, and scientists; people whose lives and work depend upon great vision. The way I do things takes more time than the way they do things at doc-in-the-box, but I think spending more time to understand my patients and their needs and to answer all their questions brings me better results and happier patients.
"As a federal law enforcement officer, excellent eyesight is a job requirement. Dr. Nahl's focus and attention on my individual needs ensured I received the best procedure for my unique situation. Dr. Nahl's results were excellent. I now have 20/10 vision and no complications with my agency's vision requirements."
